We are a group of friends who want to combat global warming. Not only by donating money to a good, green cause, but by physically doing something ourselves, for instance, by buying land, planting trees and ensuring that healthy growth returns to baren land, so that we can admire it and also share the experience.
In May 2021 we, through the foundation “Sichting Climates”, bought a first piece of land of around 53 hectares in the south of Spain, near Murcia, near the village of Mula. We want to plant as many trees and shrubs as possible, on what is mainly degraded agricultural land.
The first 12.500 trees were planted in November 2021.
In 2022 we received additional sponsoring which enabled us to do additional reforestation projects on the existing available land. We planted 2.000 trees in November 2023 and acquired relevant insights from the first batch of trees. More to come in 2024!
